According to Irish Folklore, around midnight on some dark nights, a wild man, the Dullahan, roams the countryside. He is seen riding a black horse and holding his decapitated head in one hand and a human spine in the other. The hideously grinning head looks wildly around. If the rider stops, someone will die in that place. If he calls out a name, that person will die. If you see him and he neither stops nor calls out your name, you merely go blind in one eye.
